Corruption in India
Corruption in India
India and corruption :
India is a country with enormous resources quite capable of developing itself as the most developed and prosperous nation in the world. But it is also the sixth most corrupt nation in the world. Corruption actually comes from the word 'Corrupt' meaning dishonest or immoral. I think it would be better if we change the word 'corruption' into 'Correction'? If this is done, then our country may emerge as a superpower. Corruption is rampant in each and every section of society. Today at least for India corruption is the password, and often heard the subject of discussions and conversations on all kinds of forums and platforms.

Why Corruption and India go hand in hand?
But the question arises: Why is there so much corruption in India and not so much in other developing countries? Corruption can occur only when we common people try to do a favor in a wrong and unethical way. India is a developing country that is facing problems like illiteracy, poverty, and unemployment. But do we ever think, why? If corruption does not occur then people will not be illiterate, fewer people will be under the poverty line and there will be no unemployment. Today's topmost superpower countries like China, the USA, and Britain have less or almost no corruption record, and therefore fewer people are illiterate and unemployed.
Corruption: Then v/s Now?
Our forefathers had no such necessity as a refrigerator, TV, a motor car, and similar other luxurious articles in their houses. Hence they had no tension to earn more and more to fulfill their undue ambition. They believed in plain living and high thinking. The influential and prosperous classes of people are tempted by the greed of materialism to prove their superiority over others by making an abundance of wealth through hook or by crook. Nepotism debars the eligible candidates to achieve the deserving post due to which the nation is unable to enjoy the fruits of real talent. Red-tapism is another way that denies justice to the victims in the judicial process. The scams and scandals weaken the economy and it becomes the cause of price-rise, inflation, and low standard of living among the common masses.
Corruption on Economy of India :
One can also experience the corrupt means prevailing in the market. All around we see black marketing, hoarding, and adulteration in the commercial world which worsen the purchasing capacity of the consumers and hampers their saving capabilities. Why doesn't India bring stringent and effective laws to control corruption?
How to eradicate corruption from India?
According to me, Corruption is like acid that eats into the last traces of humanity, love, and affection by degrees. When a man becomes immoral, he loses all his finer feelings and becomes like a robot of horror. Corruption has developed a deep strangling hold and its roots are widespread in society. The government must try to end corruption with an iron hand and the corrupt persons must be harshly treated to create a fear in the minds of others daring to cling on to malpractice or wrong means for making money. All of us must also contribute equally to removing corruption by taking an oath to fight jointly the practice of corruption by all means, for ourselves and for the future generation of our country as well.
